The present study, employing a descriptive-analytical method and a comparative approach, elucidates the viewpoints of ʿAllāmah Javadi Amoli and Sayyid Qutb regarding the role of parents in child rearing, with reference to Sūrat Luqmān. The findings indicate that both exegetes emphasize the foundational significance of theocentricity (khudā-garāyī), moral conduct (akhlāq-madārī), and accountability (masʾūliyyat-pazīrī). However, a fundamental difference lies in the fact that Javadi Amoli's approach is grounded in a rational-revelatory axis (miḥwar-i ʿaqlānī-waḥyānī) and individual self-perfection, whereas Sayyid Qutb concentrates on socio-dynamic dimensions and social activism. In the thematic axes of monotheism (tawḥīd), eschatology (maʿād), and worship (ʿibādah), Javadi Amoli pursues the child's connection with the transcendent realm and the purification of the soul (tazkiyah-yi nafs), while Sayyid Qutb regards religious teachings as a foundation for discipline, independence of character, and social responsibility. Both thinkers introduce parents as the principal architects of their children's destiny, who-through the instruction of monotheism, belief in the Hereafter, observance of devotional acts, institutionalization of moral virtues, and cultivation of individual and social responsibility-lay the groundwork for their children's felicity in this world and the Hereafter. Ultimately, the study concludes that the integration of Javadi Amoli's profound rational-revelatory perspective with Sayyid Qutb's socio-dynamic outlook furnishes a comprehensive and strategic model for parents. By drawing upon the five axes of Sūrat Luqmān-monotheism, eschatology, worship, ethics, and responsibility-they can optimally fulfill their educational role in guiding the religious destiny of their children.
